Main Functionalities
- Database Creation. The system enables the administrator to create one or more databases.
- User Registration. The system requires the user to register and select which database would connect to before creating test categories.
- Test Creation. The system reads preformatted test items from an excel file or accepts input using system’s test editor. The system generates preview of the test and allows the user to modify the selected answer before storing it on a specific test category.
- Test Item Classification. The system provides features on determining the type of test based on the Bloom’s taxonomy of learning (knowledge, comprehension, analysis, evaluation or creating).
- Test Activation. The system provides options to randomize test questions, choices or both. It also allows the examiner to set the time limit and other important settings that may help the testing process. Using a test key, the examinees can access the test once activated.
- Test Item Interpretation. The system performs test item analysis (easy, moderate or difficult) as well as suggestions (retained, enhanced, removed) based on the results of the examinees.
- Test Results Presentation. Test results can be exported to excel, printed or graphed.
System Design and Technologies
- Architectural Design. The system has been structured using Windows DNA (Distributed interNet Applications) architecture for security and maintainability.
- Data Storage. The system uses MS SQLServer 2005 database management system to securely store data and efficiently accommodate multiple users.
- Programming Language. The system is implemented using Microsoft Visual Basic.NET 2005, an object oriented programming language.
System Benefits
- Schools/Review Centers. It will provide them an efficient and cost effective tool on facilitating multiple choice type of test.
- Teachers. The system provides them fast, user-friendly and more convenient system on creating and facilitating tests.
